Galaxxnar C2E2 2014 Exclusive from ManOrMonster? x Monsterforge x Galaxxor

A while back, after the recording of one of our Nerd City podcasts, Brandon Barker (the mastermind behind ManOrMonster? Studios) and I were discussing what we could do that would be a cool exclusive for the upcoming C2E2. What we ended up deciding upon was a mash up of two of our most iconic creations. The concept was to be that, during a battle with General Gorgax and his Cyborg Space Barbarians, a severely damaged Galaxxor crash landed upon Wor. Luckily, the robot body found itself right next to one of Bog-Nar's tendrils, and regenerated into Galaxxnar: Monster Fighter Mutant Muck Menace Robo!
Somewhere between a Marvel What If? and a buddy cop movie, the idea began to take shape. Galaxxnar was going to be a super powered mashup of a character, who would end up defending Wor from a new cosmic threat. Galaxxnar was brought to life by a mind-blowingly cool sculpt by none other than Charles "Monsterforge" Marsh, with an additional Galaxxor head shield by Brandon, himself.
Galaxxnar features the magnetically interchangeable articulation that you have come to know and love from ManOrMonster? as well as an extra tendril and Galaxxor head/shield accessory. When it came to header card art duties, we called upon the insanely talented Alexis Ziritt (also a guest at Nerd City's C2E2 booth this year!). Alexis brought some seriously krackling cosmic heat with a positively stunning image of Galaxxnar, doing his proverbial thing. We're also going to offer a super limited art print of Alexis' header card at the booth this year.
Galaxxnar sports some beautiful hand painting by ManOrMonster? Studios and will be limited to an edition of 5. You will be able to score your very own Galaxxnar at Nerd City's booth (#750 in The Block) at C2E2, April 25th-27th for $100 each.

Nightmare C2E2 Exclusive from Frenzy Bros.

I've been a fan of the figures of Japan's Frenzy Bros. for quite some time. Their gonzo fantasy-themed vinyl figures take many of the ideas that we love about Conan and Masters of the Universe and twist them into an entirely new realm, full of sculpts and characters that are simultaneously kickass and seriously bizarre! I'm extremely honored to announce that my friend Shoji (the mastermind behind Frenzy Bros.) has sent me an edition of 3 of his new figure "Nightmare", making his debut at C2E2 in an exclusive colorway.

Nerd City will be at C2E2 April 25-27, 2014!

My favorite thing about being a part of Nerd City is having the opportunity to promote and share the work of artists and creators that I believe in. Over the past few years, Nerd City's booth at C2E2 has been a chance to showcase some of the work of our friends and favorite artists as booth exclusives. Nerd City will return to C2E2 on April 25-27th at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL with yet another booth full of great guests and amazing exclusives.
From my own Galaxxor and Lucha Sharks toys, to pieces from perennial favorites like special guests, The Godbeast and ManOrMonster? Studios, this year is shaping up to me the most epic yet! Our lineup will feature work from other in booth guests, such as Mystical Warriors of the Ring, True Cast Studio, Alexis Ziritt, and The Mark Ultra to work from our favorite artists and good friends from around the world, like BigMan Toys, Goodleg Toys, Frenzy Brothers, Ralph Niese, 5.5 Customs, Extra-Truckestrial Customs and much, much more!
Even though all of the buildup to C2E2 will also be covered on Nerd City, this blog will serve as a convenient "go to" place for a complete listing of all of the details of all of the exclusives at Nerd City's booth at C2E2 (we don't even know the #, yet!).
The next few months should be very exciting, filled with highly anticipated reveals of exclusives, collaborations, oddball toys, and far out art.
We hope to see you at C2E2!
-Ben
